吸附法是利用多孔性的固体吸附剂将水样中的一种或数种组分吸附于表面，再用适宜溶剂、加热或吹气等方法将预测组分解吸，达到分离和富集的目的。吸附法是利用多孔性固体（吸附剂）吸附污水中某种或几种污染物（吸附质）以回收或去除这些污染物，从而使污水得到净化的方法。在污水处理领域，吸附法主要用于脱除水中的微量污染物，应用范围包括脱色，除臭味，脱除重金属、各种溶解性有机物、放射性元素等。在处理流程中，吸附法可作为离子交换、膜分离等方法的预处理手段，可去除有机物、肢体物及余氯等，也可作为二级处理后的深度处理手段，以保证回用水的质量。

格栅是污水泵站中最主要的辅助设备。格栅一般由一组平行的栅条组成，斜置于泵站集水池的进口处。其倾斜角度为60°~80°。格栅后应设置工作台，工作台一般应高于格栅上游最高水位0.5m。对于人工清渣的格栅，其工作台沿水流方向的长度不小于1.2m，机械清渣的格栅，其长度不小于1.5m，两侧过道宽度不小于0.7m。
